SEO: Paid Search
Paid Search is classified as paying for traffic from a Search Engine via their pay per click program. A good example of this is Google Adwords.
You’ve probably seen examples of Google Adwords, in fact if you haven’t I’d be worried that you may need glasses
I like to think of Paid Search as an integral part of any SEO Strategy, it’s something that we recommend to most clients. Whether it’s for Brand Awareness, Product Launches or pure conversions nothing can quite deliver quicker results than Paid Search. The problem however is that it’s short term, whereas Pure SEO is a long term strategy. That’s one of the main reason I feel they compliment each other so well.
The second point to note is that running a PPC Campaign is the absolute BEST way for you to know what’s working in your market, which keywords get the most traffic & more importantly which keywords CONVERT. It’s fine doing your keyword research with programs such as Keyword Elite however it can only provide you with so much information.
Here’s a few examples of PPC Engines that work well:
Google Adwords: Probably the Daddy of PPC, however the hardest to master. I’ll be doing some case studies over time to try & give you an idea on how to run a successful PPC Campaign with Adwords.
MSN Adcenter: The new boy on the block, Adcenter is currently only Operating in the USA & UK with plans to launch in Australia & France at some point too.
Adbrite: Adbrite is a completely different type of system that makes bidding & placing ads much simpler however it is much less targeted than Adwords & Adcenter, due to the lack of pure keyword control (it does have basic keyword control). You also have more options such as paying for a month long ad on a particular site instead of bidding on keywords. So for example say you were selling a product related to Myspace you could buy a spot on a popular Myspace Resource Site for best conversions.
7Search: 7Search is an American PPC Company that seems to be quite popular with Adsense Arbitragers lately. Basically that means bidding on cheap keywords with 7Search then diverting them to a page with Adsense in order to increase profits.
I’ve personally had varied success with PPC, it depends on a few things. The product or Service you’re promoting & also what you hope to achieve out of it. Some people merely want to increase traffic, which is fine, you can make up huge lists of keywords & go for as much traffic as you like. Most people prefer to convert their visitors into paying customers, this in itself is much trickier. The trick is to catch your customers at the final stage of the buying process. Lets have a look at the buying process quickly:
Buyer wants a particular product
They search out reviews & of the product
They’re Ready to Buy
Ideally you want to get the customer when they’re at stage 3. No bullshitting around, you just want the customer to convert.
In order to do this you need to try & target the right combination of words. This could include things like buy, purchase etc also try & be as specific as possible with the name of the product. Don’t use keywords like “buy lg phone” that’s way too generalised, you need to use more targeted keywords like “buy lg 8110 phone” or “buy lg 8110 mobile” or even “lg 8110 mobile deals”
Anyway you get the general idea & I hope this article has helped you understand the value of running a PPC campaign along side your SEO campaign

SEO : Referral Traffic
I would argue that this is probably the hardest type of traffic to get. Why? well it’s directly affected by the quality of content on your blog. If you write good, interesting content then people will be inclined to link to you. If you recycle other peoples material then people will probably link to the original source instead.
First of all it’s important to understand why this type of traffic is important.
It increases the link popularity of your blog.
Helps increase the Page Rank of your blog.
It’s a good steady source of traffic, we all know how unreliable search engines can be.
It can help you drive targeted visitors to your blog, which in turn can increase the amount of subscribers you have.
So what are the best ways to get this sort of traffic?
Writing a Series of posts like this one, keep your readers captivated by continuing on with a series.
Try to be original, if you find out about a new product or service try to blog about it first.
Write Product Reviews, I quite like this one. Write honest reviews of other peoples products then ask for a link
Write Lists, like the top ten or top twenty or even top 100 best ways to do something. These attract links like crazy when done right. They also usually do well on social networking sites like Digg or Stumbleupon.
Comment on other peoples blogs, try & strike a relationship with other bloggers in your niche or topic. Once you build up a relationship you can exchange links or even ask for them to post about one of your recent entries & vice versa.
Write Articles & publish them on article directories. Include links to your blog in the resource box. Make sure & use relevant anchor text like Earn Money Blogging etc
Add links to your site on Wikipedia in the relevant section. So for example if your site if about pottery, add a link to your site in the relevant section. Sometimes the links get deleted if they don’t deem your site relevant enough, but sometimes the links stay & give good traffic
If you sell a product creating an affiliate program can drastically increase your exposure & also increase your incoming link count. Provided you use an SEO Friendly Affiliate Program.
Include options on your site that allows visitors to email articles to friends, vote for articles & generally participate more. This will increase the chance they will recommend your site or mention it to someone else.
Claim your blog on Technorati & include an “Add to Favourites” button on your sidebar. The more popular your blog becomes, the more people will add it to their favourites.
There are hundreds more ways to increase your Referral Traffic, this gives you a general idea of the basics. Getting this type of traffic is one of the hardest parts of running a blog, but once you get into a stride, you figure out what works, what sort of articles work then you’ll be on the road to riches :p
If you do anything that works really well for you why not share it by commenting & I’ll include it in this post.

SEO : Organic Traffic
First of all, there’s a number of different ways.
Organic Traffic
Referral Traffic
Paid Search
Social Search / Viral Content
Advertising
In this 5 part of the series we are going to concentrate on what you can do to your blog to increase Organic Traffic. Organic Traffic is referrals strictly from Search Engines for particular search terms.
For example, this blog ranks quite well for Earn Money Blogging.
Lets look at some of the main factors for getting a good volume of Search Traffic to your blog.
Good Keyword ResearchGood Linking StructureOutbound LinksInbound Links
It’s important to make sure you include important keywords in the title of your posts. Try to do some research about your topic before you post. For example say you want to write a post about Adsense, I would usually pop the word Adsense into a program like Keyword Elite & that will show me which variations of the word Adsense get the most traffic & also what the competition is. There’s really no point you targeting a term that will maybe only get you 10 visitors per month when you could maybe get 10x that amount.
This is the basic philosophy that I adopt when making posts.
The second thing I like to do is make sure that I interlink all my pages properly. This is called your internal linking structure. So for example, say last week you wrote about Adsense, then this week you’re writing about Adsense Positioning then you can go back & link the two articles together. I use a nice plugin for doing this called SH Autolink for Wordpress. It allows me to add keywords to a database & link them to a particular page.
For example if I type in Azoogleads, that’ll automatically link to an article I wrote about Azoogleads last week & in turn help me rank for the word Azoogleads
Outbound links on your blog are equally important, well not equally but they help Google decide the relevancy of your page. To do this try & link to other sources that are relevant to your post, the more trusted the source is the better. This way, Google will know you are writing & sourcing a particular topic. It also lets other Webmasters see that you’re writing about them or their site, this can help you set up relationships, trade links & network.
And finally, perhaps the most important method for generating Organic Traffic is getting inbound links to your blog. This can be hard for people just starting out. Try not to just get links back to your homepage, I like getting deep links to particular posts. The Anchor Text of the link will determine what you rank for, this is the text contained within the hyperlink.
So as I mentioned earlier, for the link about Azoogleads the Hypertext is Azoogleads & will help me rank for that term. Remember to do this with your internal linking aswell as your inbound links (which you can’t control all the time).
There are a few good ways to attract links to your posts, for example you can buy links from Textlinkads. But this is a topic I’ll cover at a later date, so stay tuned!

10 Easy Ways to Increase your Textlinkads Income
Firstly, sign up to Textlinkads if you haven’t already.
You can also grab yourself a free link on Earner’s Blog with our $100 Voucher. See Advertising.
Here’s a list of some simple tips & tricks you can use to add to your income. One thing I always stress is DIVERSIFY your income streams. Then learn to increase each channel bit by bit. These tips should help you at least double your Textlinkads income, if not more.1. Work on backlinks to increase the Pagerank of your blog, Pagerank greatly increases the”value” of your link. It’ll also attract more buyers & help you rank better if they “Sort by Link Popularity.”
2. Increase traffic to reduce your alexa rank, blogs with lower alexa ranks tend to sell more links since you can “Sort by Alexa” in Textlinkads.
3. Place your Textlinkads above the fold, you earn more money per link if they are well placed.
4. Utilise Subdomains where possible, subdomains are classified as a seperate domain so you can sell seperate Textlinkads on each subdomain. For example if all my categories in Earners Blog were subdomains technically I could have 25 Different listings in Textlinkads & potentially pull in 25x more revenue.
5. Ask the guys at Textlinkads to increase the price of your link if you’re not happy with the automatic pricing system. This is something most Publishers fail to do. I know I wouldn’t be happy selling a link at $15, hell it’s not worth my while.
6. Make sure they categorise your site in the appropiate Category. Otherwise you won’t get found. Increasing your price also increases your chances of selling a link whilst people are browsing by category. Drop an email to them if you need to change your category.
7. Promote the Textlinkads Affiliate Program on your site, encourage anyone to give it a try. You get $25 per referral.
8. Do the double whammy, tell people you’re giving away free textlinks on your site & get them to sign up via your affiliate link. You’re getting the $25 for the referral, they’re buying the link for free & you’re getting the revenue from the link purchase. Everyone’s happy.
9. Have a dedicated advertising page outlining the various advertising solutions you provide on your website.
10. Have the Textlinkads in a prominent place. If you situate them well more people are likely to purchase them. I know I’d rather purchase a link that was in the top right rather than below the footer.
That about covers this lesson, happy earning

what is invalid clicks ??
Sometimes you may notice the word, “invalid clicks” when you’re reading posts in various adsense forums. You may wonder what is it and how can it affect you.
Remember my previous article about the common mistakes made by the beginners? Invalid clicks is the consequence of those mistakes.
The following situations will lead to invalid clicks:
You click your own ads.
You ask your friends or others to click it.
You’ve joined the click-exchange programs to increase your no. of clicks.
You use artificial programs to increase your no. of clicks.
So, always remember not to use any unnatural ways to click on your ads. But what about accidenta clicks? If you’re worry about whether you’ll accidentally click on your own ads, there is a solution to it.
Actually, you can disable those ads from appearing in your broswer. For example, you’ll spent most of all time at home, writing and submitting articles to your website and you want to make sure you won’t click on your own ads. If this is the case, read this article.
Just focus on your contents, use proper methods to promote your site and eventually, you’ll get what you want by earning it yourself.
Tips for getting more traffics to your blog
According to the studies, most web traffic comes from search engines. So, search engines are definitely a very crucial factor in driving traffic your blogs. Besides, these kinds of traffics are highly targeted. Therefore, in order to increase your traffics you’ve to submit and register your blog to the search engines.
Now, there are a lot of search engines out there on the web. Instead of submitting your blog to all these search engines, submit to several large search engines is definitely enough for the game. You only need to submit to 3 of them, namely Google, MSN and Yahoo. Once you’re register with these “Big Players”, your blog will eventually appears in other “small players” as well because most of them are just portals for the big ones.
Submit your site right away with the most popular players in town now!
Google click here
Yahoo click here
MSN click here
After you’ve submitted your blog to these search engines, you’ve to wait because it takes time for them to register your blog with their search engines. It may eventually take weeks or even months for them to do it. So, please be patient.
What’s next? Right now you can continue to build up some contents for your blog (search engines love contents, more content means bigger chance of finding your blog via search engines).
If you’ve run out of ideas for writing your own contents tentatively, I suggest you to take a look at my article on getting free contents on the web.
Just remember whatever you do, don’t keep submitting your blog to the search engines.
protect yourself from clicking your own ads
After reading all those articles about how serious the consequences are if you click on your own ads, you want to make sure you won’t click it accidentially. In this article, I’ll list out the simplest methods to protect you from clicking on your own Adsense ads.
It is actually pretty straight forward, just disable the javascript. If you disable it, you won’t see any Adsense ads appearing in your browser anymore. Thus, preventing you from click on it accidentially. I’ll out the procedures for disabling the javascript in Firefox and Internet Explorer. Although there are many different broswers too but I believe the concept is the same. (The below picture is captured from Firefox)
Please keep in mind that if you disable the javascript, application rely on it will be disable too. So, this method is just for your reference only and remember you can turn it back on anytime.
For FireFox
1. On the menu bar, click the “Tools”, then click on the “Options”.
2. Select the “Content” tab
3. Uncheck “Enable Javascript”
4. Restart the browser
For Internet Explorer
1. From the menu bar, click the “Tools”, and then select the “Internet Options”.
2. Select the “Security” tab

4. Go to Active scripting and then select “Disable”
5. Restart the browser
Adsense Tips: common beginner mistakes
Let’s say you’ve your account approved by the Adsense team and you’ve paste your code onto your site. Everything is ready now, and you’re starting get some commission earned from the ads. You’re pretty excited and go to the forums to discuss various ways to improve your site and earning. Suddenly you receive an email from Google mentioning you’re banned and you’ve absolutely no idea what happen.
A lot of people has experienced the above scenario and try to reinstate their account. Most of them are beginners. In this article, I’ll list out a few points to help you to avoid getting yourself into such situation.
Since more clicks means more revenue. A lot of people will try to figure out ways to increase their number of clicks. The most common mistakes is to click the ads yourself. Remember, never click those ads yourself. If you clicked it by mistake, that’s ok. However, if you clicked it constantly like once per day that would get you into trouble. Besides, don’t ask your friends or others to click it.
Now, there are certain program or goup known as click farms. They claimed that they’ll deliver clicks to your ads and all you do is to join and pay them by certain amount. These kind of click exchange programs should be avoided. Always keep in mind that using such methods to earn your clicks is highly prohibited.
Also rememer to stay away from programs like autosuft, paid-to-surf and paid-to-click. Anyone using such programs to generate clicks or impressions will be banned from Adsense.
Another common mistakes is that people tends to talk about their Click Through Rate (CTR) in forums. Never do this! According to the Terms of Conditions of Adsense program, you’re not allowed to disclose your CTR or you’ll get yourself banned.
What about pop-ups? Can I put the Adsense ads in the pop-ups? The answer is NO!! Never put your adsense ads in any kind of pop-ups.
One last thing to mention is that adding the adsense ads to your site is different from putting a donation icon to it. So, don’t try to ask your visitors to click it and don’t trick them to do it either.
Just to remember, there is no easy way in earning money especially with Adsense. It takes time to build up your traffic. Once you get yourself banned, you may never have the chance to apply for the Adsense program anymore.
Don’t worry about the traffic of your site. I’ll share some of my tips and experience with you in which to help you to improve your site traffic and it is absolutely legal with Google. So, stay tuned!
PR0 to PR4 in 4 easy weeks
I know lots of webmasters and SEO gurus that say that PR (google pageRank - the little green bar on the google toolbar) is not worth that much but everyone is using it as a measure.
Webmasters refuse to exchange links with you if they think your PR is inferior to their website's PR. Lots of programs (reviewme.com ...) could reject your site because of low PR, some directory owners display the list of sites ordered with PR.
So ... here is some simple steps you can follow to get your sites PR higher than it is and maybe get some extra traffic while you are at it.
- Post your link in forums using signatures and/or places that allow website reviews, put the site url in the signature with your target keywords for titles
- Submit to free and/or paid directories (in general the younger the directory the easier would be to get accept it in it)
- If you have other sites put sitewide links pointing to your new website. If sites are totally unrelated subject, put the links in the footer with small letter (the link still counts).
- Put your link anywhere you can, without becoming a spammer (everyone hates spammers)
- Find some high PR sites and pay for a link if you have to. There is lots of projects on the internet that accept donations as low as $50 and they put your link in a high PR page. For example moddle donations page has a PR of 6 http://moodle.org/donations/.
- Using your link in comment posts. This won't necessarily increase your PR but it could give you a few visitors if nothing else.
For the record world experts net has been almost abandoned, unfortunatelly due to lots of things in my head and currently looking for ways to rebuild it into something new.
So no matter what some say, PR is in our lives and its worth something. I can describe it better with a metaphor, you don't need an Armani Suit but if you wear one people look at you differently. But, PR by itself is not going to get any money for your site, but having it will help get some extra attention, or better deals.
Search engine submission
u shud submit ur web site or blog to many search engines -
search engine submission is easy all u need to give is ur web site URL , rest search engine will do for u .
How can I get my site listed with search engines? It sounds like a pretty simple question, but sadly, search engine submission can be a complicated subject.
Have no fear. This guide will take you through the essential and relatively easy steps you can take to get listed with search engines.
Before we begin, it's important to make a distinction between search engine submission and search engine optimization. These terms, along with others, are sometimes used synonymously to discuss different efforts to promote sites on search engines. However, within this section of Search Engine Watch, they will be used to refer to some very specific activities.
Search Engine Submission: Getting Listed
"Search engine submission" refers to the act of getting your web site listed with search engines. Another term for this is search engine registration.
Getting listed does not mean that you will necessarily rank well for particular terms, however. It simply means that the search engine knows your pages exist.
Think of it like a lottery. Search engine submission is akin to you purchasing a lottery ticket. Having a ticket doesn't mean that you will win, but you must have a ticket to have any chance at all.
Search Engine Optimization: Improving The Odds
"Search engine optimization" refers to the act of altering your site so that it may rank well for particular terms, especially with crawler-based search engines (what these are will be explained later in this guide).
Returning to the lottery model, let's assume there was a way to increase the odds of winning by picking your lottery numbers carefully. Search engine optimization is akin to this. It's making sure that the numbers you select are more likely to win than purchasing a set of numbers at random.
SEO
Search engine optimization (SEO), considered by many to be a subset of search engine marketing, is a term used to describe a process of improving the volume of traffic to a web site from search engines, usually in "natural" ("organic" or "algorithmic") search results. Those efforts may also be seen in more narrow vertical search engines involving areas such as local search. Many site owners and consultants engaging in SEO attempt to pursue qualified visitors to a site, and the quality of visitor traffic can be measured by how often a visitor using a specific keyword phrase leads to a desired conversion action, such as making a purchase, viewing or downloading a certain page, requesting further information, signing up for a newsletter, or taking some other specific action.
In a broad sense, SEO is marketing by understanding how search algorithms work and what human visitors might search for, to help match those visitors with sites offering what they are interested in finding. Creating web pages with SEO in mind does not necessarily mean creating content more favorable to to algorithms than human visitors. Some SEO efforts may involve optimizing a site's coding, presentation, and structure, without making very noticeable changes to human visitors, such as incorporating a clear hierarchical structure to a site, and avoiding or fixing problems that might keep search engine indexing programs from fully spidering a site. Other, more noticeable efforts, involve including unique content on pages that can be easily indexed and extracted from those pages by search engines while also appealing to human visitors.
The term SEO can also refer to "search engine optimizers," a term adopted by an industry of consultants who carry out optimization projects on behalf of clients, and by employees of site owners who may perform SEO services in-house.
Search engine optimizers often offer SEO as as a stand-alone service or as a part of a larger marketing campaign. Because effective SEO can require making changes to the source code of a site, it is often very helpful when incorporated into the initial development and design of a site, leading to the use of the term "Search Engine Friendly" to describe designs, menus, content management systems and shopping carts that can be optimized easily and effectively.

Increasing web site traffic
1) Content of ur web site
2) PR(page rank ) of ur web site for the searh engines like google, yahoo, amazon
3) Links that u hav in ur web site
4) Links that directs to ur web site
5) Number of page hits per day
Tips :
1) Submit ur web site to search engines
Submit to five groups of directories:
1. Dmoz.org and Yahoo (local, such as Yahoo.co.uk, or Yahoo.ca, etc... if you can).2. Find directories in your field and get into them. Pay if you must, but only if the price is reasonable.3. Local directories that relate to your country or region.4. Any other directories that would be appropriate.5. If you are targeting the local market, make sure that you are in the Yellow Pages and Superpages (because search engines use these listings to power local searches)
2) Increase ur web site content
Add a page every 2-3 days: 200-500 words. Create original content, don't copy others. The more original and useful it is, the more people will read it, link to it, and most importantly of all - like it enough to keep coming back for more.
3) Go for link exchange
Simply submit your website to appropriate sites, asking that they link to your site as a reference because it will benefit their visitors. Don't spend too much time on this, if your content is good and original, they will find you and link to you naturally. Remember that Linking is Queen (http://www.redcarpetweb.com/promotion/0409.html#feature).
Stay away from reciprocal linking, links farms, link scams, and any other unnatural links. They may not necessarily hurt you, but Google tracks when you get a link, how long you have had a link, who links to the site that links to you, where you live, what you had for breakfast, and more (not really... but kind of).
4) Display Site-map in ur web site
Build a site map with a link to each of your pages. Keep it up to date. This will allow the spiders to get to every page. Put a text link to the site map on the main pages.
5) Get into Article Marketing
6) Use of exact Keywords
Before you do anything else, use a keyword research tool and do an extensive job researching the right keyphrases to use for your site. What keyphrases are your direct competitors using? Are there any keyphrases that create a potential for market entry? Are there any that you can put a spin on and create a whole new niche with?
7) Pay-Per-Click (PPC)
Sign up for Google AdWords and Yahoo Search Marketing. Spend money getting people to your site. Use it for branding too. This will create a steady flow of visitors to your site, and will make your site more accessible to your potential clients. You don't have to be #1, you don't even have to be #5... just make sure you are on the first page of search results for most of your keyphrases, when the cost is right.
8) Study Your Traffic
After 30 to 90 days you will have enough results to analyze in your statistics program. Go over them with a fine tooth comb. Get the answers to these questions:
Where are your visitors coming from?
Which search engines do they use?
What queries do they type in?
What pages on your site do they visit the most?
What are the entry pages on your site?
What are the exit pages?
What path do they follow when they browse your site?
Use this information to tweak your site.
Use the most popular page to encourage the visitors to make you money.
Adjust the paths they use to send them where you want them.
Figure out why they leave from the exit pages.
Also, see what search terms people use to find you, and fine tune your keyphrases. If you targeted "green widgets", but your visitors are finding you with the query "green leather widgets", then start creating content about "leather widgets"!
